Get the Party Started

A free party kit for your community

Give this party kit a second life

We're rehoming a preloved party kit, and we want to find it the best possible new home.

It's in great shape, well looked after by one of our members, and ready for its next community.

If your community group would like to run a party kit, we'd love to hear from you. It's free to apply - all we ask is that you have a real plan for it.

What's a party kit?

A party kit is a set of reusable tableware that community groups lend out instead of people buying single use plates and cups for every event. Borrow it, use it, return it, and it's ready for the next party. Our network supports over 650 party kits globally.

What's in this kit

An IKEA Kalas Pastels party kit, serving up to 30 guests, with plates, cups, bowls, cutlery and jugs. All dishwasher safe and ready to go.

What we're looking for

We want this kit to go somewhere it'll actually be used: borrowed often, looked after properly, and shared with as many people as possible. So this isn't a giveaway, it's a rehoming. We'll ask you to tell us who you are, how you'd use it and how you'd share it.

Who can apply

UK and Ireland based community organisations who want to start a party kit for the first time: a community centre, school PTA or PTFA, sharing or toy library, local eco group - something like that.

How it works

  1. Apply: tell us about your group and how you'd use and share the kit

  2. We review: every application is read by the PKN team

  3. We announce: one group is chosen by the end of August

  4. We deliver: the kit comes to you, free of charge!

Key dates

Applications open: 10 July 2026
Applications close: 31 August 2026

FAQs

Is this kit really free?

Yep. There's no cost to apply and no cost to receive the kit if you're chosen. We do ask that you're a registered community organisation ready to actually use and share it, this isn't a straightforward giveaway, it's a rehoming.

Who can apply?

Community organisations based in the UK or Ireland, including community centres, school PTAs or PTFAs, sharing libraries, and local eco action groups. We're not able to accept applications from individuals or commercial businesses.

Can existing Party Kit Network members apply?

Sorry, no. This campaign is for organisations starting a party kit for the first time. If your organisation already has a pin on our map as of 9 July 2026, this round isn't open to you, but we'd love you to spread the word to a group who might be a good fit.

What condition is the kit in?

It's preloved and in good usable condition, donated by a Party Kit Network member who has closed their kit. It comes complete with plates, cups, bowls, cutlery and jugs for up to 30 guests.

Do we need experience running a party kit?

No. We're more interested in your plan and your enthusiasm than your track record. If you're chosen, we'll support you to get started.

How will the winner be chosen?

Every application is reviewed by the Party Kit Network team against how clearly you've described your plan to use, share and look after the kit, and the benefit to your local community.

When will we hear back?

The winner will be announced before the end of September. We'll contact the winning organisation directly by email, and announce the result on our social media.

How will the kit reach us?

We'll ship it to you directly at no cost, once the winner has been confirmed and a delivery address provided.

What if our application isn't successful?

Thank you for applying. Sign up to our newsletter to hear about future opportunities to host a kit, and visit our website to find out how to start a party kit of your own.

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • how clearly the applicant has described how the kit would be used

  • how the kit would be shared or lent out within the community

  • how the kit would be stored and looked after

  • the likely reach and benefit to the local community

We reserve the absolute right to exclude from consideration any application whose inclusion might constitute a reputational risk to Party Kit Network CIC and those associated with it.

The decision of Party Kit Network CIC is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome of individual applications.

The winner will be announced by 30 September 2026 via our social media channels and by direct email to the winning applicant.

Delivery

  • The kit will be shipped by Party Kit Network CIC to the winning organisation's nominated UK or Ireland address at no cost to the winner.

  • We aim to dispatch the kit within 4 weeks of the winner being notified, subject to confirmation of a suitable delivery address and any necessary import or customs arrangements for deliveries to the Republic of Ireland.

  • Should the winning organisation become unable to receive or use the kit, they should let us know as soon as possible so the kit can be offered to another applicant.

  • Insofar as permitted by law, we will not be responsible or liable for any loss, damage, personal injury, or death arising from receipt or use of the kit, except where caused by our negligence. Your statutory rights are not affected.

  • Should the winning organisation retire the kit within two years of receipt, they are asked to pass it on to another organisation within their community or offer it back to us so it can be rehomed again with another community group.

Publicity

  • The name of the winning organisation may be announced on our website and social media channels (Facebook and Instagram: @partykitnetwork).

  • The winning organisation will be asked to provide a short comment and photo for use in our social media and press activity. Participation in any further publicity, such as interviews or case studies, is at the discretion of the winning organisation.

  • The name of the individual who submitted the application will not be published without separate consent.

General

  • By submitting an application, you confirm that you are authorised to apply on behalf of your organisation and agree to be bound by these terms.

  • Applications must not be defamatory, abusive, illegal, or promote illegal activity, and must not contain false, harassing, or offensive content.

  • This campaign and all related arrangements are subject to cancellation, suspension, or amendment by us at our discretion, should it become necessary.
