Something to put in your diary: on Saturday 6th June, the Plastic Free Gathering is back! This time at the wonderful Watershed in Bristol.
It’s a full day of talks, discussions, and connections, bringing together changemakers, campaigners, community groups, and businesses all pushing for ambitious action on plastic. And this year, Party Kit Network will be there in person with a stand.
A familiar event for us
Last year we had the pleasure of presenting at the Plastic Free Gathering in Birmingham, sharing how community reuse, through people borrowing reusable party supplies locally, can make a real dent in single-use waste. It was a brilliant day, and being in a room full of people who get it was genuinely energising.
This year, we’re back. This time with a stand, so please come and say hello! We’d love to chat, whether you’re curious about Party Kit Network, already running a kit, or just want to geek out about reuse and joy of community sharing with us.
A keynote that means a lot to us
We’re especially excited about keynote speaker Jen Gale of Sustainable(ish). For those who don’t know, Jen’s podcast was one of the sparks that inspired Party Kit Network in the first place, so getting to be in the same room as her feels like a bit of a full-circle moment.
Expect her usual warmth, honesty, and the kind of practical, down-to-earth thinking that makes sustainable living feel genuinely achievable.
Speakers close to our hearts
We’re also really looking forward to hearing from a couple of speakers with a direct connection to the Party Kit Network world.
Edd Moore and Ellie Jackson (Wild Tribe Heroes) have both been judges for Party Kits for Schools in the past, and it’ll be brilliant to hear what they’re working on now.
Charlotte Mason-Curl is the founder of No Crap Parties and also a Party Kit Network member herself, running a kit in Kendal. She’ll be speaking in her capacity as founder of The Kids Party Pact — and if anyone can make you rethink the way we celebrate with less single-use plastic, it’s Charlotte.
The rest of the line-up looks fantastic too
Other confirmed speakers include Lisa Hicks of SNOAP (yes, the one from Dragon’s Den), Bianca Carr from Final Straw Foundation, Lorraine Allman of Party without Plastic, Livvy Drake of Sustainable Sidekicks, and many more.
Sessions span the full picture of the plastic-free movement — from grassroots campaigns and community reuse to deposit return schemes, plastic-free innovations, policy, and behaviour change.

Once the Gathering wraps up at 5pm, head round the corner to the Ritorno Lounge for an evening social co-hosted by Party Kit Network and the Plastic Free Gathering. It runs from 5:30–8:30pm, entry is free, and your first drink is on us.
It’s a relaxed, joyful end to the day. A chance to carry the plastic-free energy forward, swap stories, make new connections, and celebrate the brilliant community of people who believe the world is better with less waste and more sharing. Whether you’ve been at the Gathering, you’re a Party Kit Network member local to Bristol, or you just care about reuse and community — you’re warmly invited.
